Young Ed Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 I'm trying to prove that the 10in hubcap was not specifically for 16in wheels and the 9in for 15in wheels. I'm looking for written parts manual proof that the number 1189779 is listed for deluxe cars rather than 16in wheels. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) Ed...I see you list a D24 book??????.....and I happen to have one dated 1947...and you above listed part number is not a Dodge number for D24....S or C...section 22-08-5 lists 1117-383 for Custom except & pass and limo (D24C); 1117-384 7 pas and limo (d24C); and 117-382 D24S; and 867-949 as a special cap for the spare except for 7 pass and limo no where does it state in my book any dimensions being it 9 or 10 inch diameter.. Young Ed Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 Hmmm well these trucks started in 39 maybe the cap design is prewar. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 Ed...I popped my searchable master catalog CD into the computer and again.that part number does not come up for any DPCD for 1946-1954 I also did a scan for section 22-08-5 for all models and compared/scanned for that number as a failsafe search..and again...nothing... Plymouthy Adams Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 so are you looking for a truck cap and not a D24? I have nothing at all here to support truck numbers... Quote
Young Ed Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 Tim its my believe that the trucks used 9in car caps. Certainly true for plymouth trucks. Took me a bit to find but here's a picture of what my truck caps look like. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 28, 2014 Author Report Posted February 28, 2014 Another update. That was the canadian book.... US book shows 862968 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 28, 2014 Report Posted February 28, 2014 again, that number does not compute book or CD...may well be a truck item... Quote
