Donnies48 Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 Hi. Have a 48 Ply special deluxe coupe. I am trying to find the right master cylinder plug and gasket. I do have the part numbers, plug= 592925 and gasket =523934. Searched the net and so far I have found nothing. Perhaps led astray as most searches tend to do, link, after link, after link. Would anyone happen to know where I may be able to locate these parts? Is there an after market replacement? Previous owner installed this plastic plug. Well.................its plastic, boken down and in my humble opinion junk. At anyrate.......would really appreciate any suggestions. Thanks Don in Austin Quote

_shel_ny Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 (edited) My book shows 856332 as the # for the plug. May or may not be correct. Some have suggested in the past that the help section in the parts stores has caps.(plugs) Possible match there. I can check the junk yard next month. collectorsautosupply or mitchellmotorparts Edited February 17, 2014 by shel_ny Quote
Niel Hoback Posted February 17, 2014 Report Posted February 17, 2014 If it helps any, I'm pretty sure these are no Mopar specific. I believe old Fords use the same cap and should be easy to order from Mac's or some place like that. Quote
Donnies48 Posted February 17, 2014 Author Report Posted February 17, 2014 Shel_Ny and Neil. Thanks for the info. The part number is one I got from this site as well as another. Shel_ny, I''ll look at sites you suggested. Maybe one will show up in their inventory. Neil I'll check out Mac's too. Thanks guys! Quote

Young Ed Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 Last time I changed the oil in my 48 the drain plug gasket was getting pretty bad. The local napa had a good assortment of copper rings. You will probably have to convert from MM to get your size but check it out. Quote
scotty t Posted February 18, 2014 Report Posted February 18, 2014 I've got a good used one you can have, just pay shipping. Quote
