Jeff Balazs
Does anyone have any size information on the data plate that is supposed to be affixed to the door pillar? Mine is missing and the one I ordered from VPW is too wide. A photo would be great. Thanks, Jeff
ggdad1951
Mine from vow was identical in size to my original
Larry Leibhart
Original Data Plate 1 11/16 in. wide by 5 13/16 in. long
Jeff Balazs
Hmmm? that is what they sent me.....but it doesn't look like it will work. There is a recessed area in the pillar that it should sit flat in and it is only about an inch wide. Not sure what to make of this. ggdad1951
Mine had a slight bend in it to fit
Dodgeb4ya
The factory data plates are slightly dished lengthwise to fit the curve of the pillar.
Jeff Balazs
Ok Thank you.......it just did not look right. Does anyone know what size stamp was used to letter these? Jeff
ggdad1951
I think for mine it was a 5/32". I'd have to look at home or try and find the thread I had on it here. Or send it to me with all the info and I'll stamp it and bring it along to the BBQ Edited January 16, 2014 by ggdad1951
Barry Maxwell
Jeff: The data plate on my '51B3C is 1-5/8" by 5-3/4' and it is original. If I have done it correctly there should be a photo attached. Barry
Jeff Balazs
Thanks guys. Ok I guess I have the correct item. Just need to stamp the numbers and then dish it in to conform. I need to get this done as the VIN has to appear in two places in order to get title and registration here. Thanks, Jeff

Thanks, Jeff Good job Jeff the other place you know is stamped into the front driver's side of the frame. Unfortunately I didn't know this and failed to affix that plate on mine. The DMW (dumb man walking) would not let me go home and return with my plate on the cab. I ended up with a DMV "assigned number" which included riveting a plate on my door frame and one on the frame. ggdad1951
Just make sure when you punch the numbers you back it with a solid material or it will draw deep
