Jim Yergin Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 The annual steeple chase races at Montpelier, Virginia were held this past Saturday. The races are held on what was the estate of James Madison in Orange, Virginia. It is a fun day of tailgate picnics and we try and go every year. This year the weather was beautiful and it was a perfect day for tailgating with our 1941 Plymouth wagon. That's my friend John's 1965 Mustang parked in the space next to ours. Also on the grounds was this Plymouth pick-up truck. It was a nicely modifed truck. The engine had an Edgy head and dual carbs. Jim Yergin 3 Quote
RobertKB Posted November 3, 2013 Report Posted November 3, 2013 Looks like a great day and a fun time. Thanks for posting the pictures. I am jealous as today we have SNOW and the cars are in hibernation, likely until the spring. Quote
1940plymouth Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Thanks for sharing, cold windy day here all day. Quote
greg g Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Zounds and Hip Hip, will you be riding to the hounds in a fortnight????? Looks like a fun day. Quote
GlennCraven Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 I've driven past that location a few times. Northern and central Virginia is some of the prettiest country in the U.S. ... And horse country; so dear to my heart. I'm glad you had a fantastic day. Keep enjoying that beautiful car and the beautiful country. Quote
Scruffy49 Posted November 4, 2013 Report Posted November 4, 2013 Geez, if that dressed up L6 had been red I'd reconsider scrapping my 230... that's a nice truck. And it looked like a rather decent day overall. My wife would enjoy going to that, thank you for the incentive to keep fixing up the fossilized truck. Quote
