JIPJOBXX Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Was wasting some time today and was thinking about buying a vacumm pump for bleeding brakes and ran into this idea! I thought it was so simple that I built one and it really does work! Jon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgpY_oGINU8 Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Why dont you simply remove your milking machine and connect the manifold vacuum to your glass jar? Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Good idea! but I do not want to have brake fluid in my engine. But thats really does a spin on this simple idea! Thanks Don for your imput Edited September 2, 2013 by JIPJOBXX Quote
randroid Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 Don, That would be sort of silly, don't you think? You'd sure have a lot of holes in the manifold to block before you could hook the vacuum to one without leaks. Sheesh! -Randy Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 (edited) Yea but Don knows that I have a special valve already set in place for operating my milking machine by vacumm! Here is a picture Edited September 2, 2013 by JIPJOBXX Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 Anyway that little idea worked and for some of the guys who are not fat cats on the block this is a good way of saving a few bucks. Not milking a cow by using your car but makeing up a vacumm pump with that idea I got from Utube!!!! Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 You are right Randy, it is silly. How does anyone bleed the brakes from under the hood? Must be OK to suck milk into te engine but not brake fluid. But wait there is more..... Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted September 2, 2013 Author Report Posted September 2, 2013 Yea the milk comes out the exhaust pipe nice and warm but a little oily:) Don here is my next car and its going to be a little competition for old Cowdodge! Cowdodge is great for 30 mile drives but over a days time it kind of beats you down and so I'm going to buy a real road car and who cares about MPG-Jon Quote
greg g Posted September 2, 2013 Report Posted September 2, 2013 I believe the demonstrator was a hydraulic clutch. Quote
Solution JIPJOBXX Posted September 2, 2013 Author Solution Report Posted September 2, 2013 Here is my little set up and it worked perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have come to the end of the road with my brakes and who said patients isn't a virtue! Some people here think inside the box and some think outside of the box and I guess I'm the latter. Anyway thanks for all the help with my brakes this past summer and it was an uphill climb but now they are working just like new 1942 brakes should. Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
