larryconnors
P 25 engines were P25-1 for Plaza, P25 -2 for Savoy and P25-3 for Belvedere. Why did they have the identfying suffix? Were there differences between these engines?
TodFitch
I am out of my "era of detailed knowledge" with this, but I think the suffix was only on the engineering code to designate the trim level. I don't think it made any difference on the engine. Sort of like P15S (DeLuxe) versus P15C (Special Deluxe) both had just P15 engines. But I could be entirely wrong. Plymouthy Adams
the engines were all stamped P25 and only the body model was was indentified by the -1,2 or 3 A Plaza was a -1 the Savoy the -2 and the Belvedere was a -3 on model identification, low entry was the -1 and the high entry was the -3.. Again as answered on the earlier thread the engines were all P25 and the diamond indicated the larger 230 introduced in mid year with the new Powerflite automatic tranny Edited August 2, 2013 by Plymouthy Adams
