Hi Guys;

I have assembled the front end of my truck and have an issue that I cannot for the life of me figure out. I have a clearance problem problem when I try to fit the hood. The under side of the front portion of the center section of the hood comes into contact with the vent line of the radiator. The bolts in the front two mounting points are bottomed out in the slots.

It seems like if I could adjust the front clip up a 1/8" to 1/4" in relation to the top of the radiator everything would fit like it should. The problem is all the adjustments seem to be either for side to side or fore and aft movement.

What am I missing? I know it has got to be something simple......I just can't seem to find it.

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

What MAY have happend is the center section commonly cracks right at the end of the hinge section and lets it drop a bit.  These cracks MAY have gotten welded  back together without pulling the center section back up.  Did you have those cracks?  You may end up modifying the slots to get the clearance

That is a possibility.

Thanks Dave I will have to take a look at this.

I think that was a common issue from when some of the trucks were new. It was on the bigger trucks...

Both my trucks had that crack. I don't know if this would work or not, but you could try adding a washer or two under the radiator support where it bolts to the frame cross member.  You'd have to see how that effects the alignment of the rear of the fendor with the front of both doors.  Just thinking out loud here.
