1940plymouth Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Last week I took my wife up to Morrisville, NY to see her soon to be 96 year old Father. He is doing very good. On the way home just outside of Morrisville I stopped to take this photo. I don't know what year Caddy it is as it had Mass plates on it, plus it looks like it may have been an export model. Instead of me joining another forum and having to remember another password, I figured I would ask here. Thanks, Bob Quote
bamfordsgarage Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 Somewhere 1912-1914. 1912 was the first year for electric headlamps (vs acetylene) and 1914 was the last year for right-hand drive production for US and Canada. The 1912 Cadillac was first brand to incorporate a practical electric self-starter, generator and electric head-lighting. Most of the industry followed suit in 1913 or '14. 1914 was also final year for the Cadillac four-cylinder engine, which featured beautiful copper water jackets around each cylinder — photo below — and was replaced by their famous 90° flathead V8 with (approx 285 in3) in 1915. greg g Posted June 28, 2013 Report Posted June 28, 2013 (edited) 14 shows the big Cadillac blaze on the radiator core, later ones seem to have the small badge on the top of the rad. Edited June 28, 2013 by greg g Quote
