My neighbor who works for the Railroad as a refrigeration technicion was cleaning out his garage today. He called me and asked if I wanted a vacuum pump. Of course I said yes so he brought it over.

What I got is a Robinair Model 15108-A Serial 761

What I did not get was a manual. I contacted the manufacture earlier today and sent them a note to see if they may have a manual. I have not yet heard back from them.

My question is does anyone here have such manual?

I did plug the pump in and ran it for half a second. It appears to be low on oil and I dont want to run it any longer until I can better check it out. Thanks in advance.

Robinsair is good unit...lighter weight than the one I have and bit more portable I guess...fill the vacuum pump with refrigerant oil..(what mine uses) Ihave been using my pump for 30+ years..and have a spare pump for it upstairs in a box....these are handy as pockets on a shirt...

A quick check of the Robinair service info site did not show a manual for model 15108.  However, if you truncate the number to 151 you get a list of small vacuum pumps that have PDFs of manuals available.  It is likely that the basic maintenance of the pumps are the same and the variations are only due to voltage needed, etc.,   Perhaps you could find one of the listed pumps that has specs that come close to the specs for your pump and take a look at the manual to see if it shows what you need.

Excellent point on the 151 number. I am sorting through the manuals now. This is the same webpage where I sent my request yesterday but no response yet. Thanks for the advice.

Don, for some reason companies do not engage with an individuals seeking information.  I guess if you don't have a letter head with some fortune 500 company name which you sent your request they discount it as too much trouble.  Sad but seems to be the way of business theses days.  I have countless letters sent inquiring of information on their product many of which is a request to purchase...single item sales do not generate the revenue to pay for the staff to take the order, process it internally to the shipping department..

Hard for them to ignore a phone call. But once the call was made I once again struck a dead end. They told me that the pump is pre 1980 and they do not carry literature for a pump that old.

Don, most companies do have an archive section, finding someone to take a minute and pull the archived records may be difficult. some companies do have their old drawings available through the archives online...they are not that common but have found some do this as a convenience for their loyal customers..that is the fine line between some companies and their outlook at the buying community.

You can find PDF file manuals for some things on line if you put in the make and model number.  I found one for a radio/

record player, and one for something else I can't now recall.   Rather amazing all the stuff out there.  Good luck on

getting your new toy to run.   Would any company around your town still use such a pump and perhaps have info on

it???
