The search option didn't yield any good results, so here it goes! Dodge Central has window channel by the 8' length, does anybody know if I would need one or two to do both doors on a truck?

the channel for around the window top to the rear and then down?  It's real easy to measure the length you need.  Go from the vent window and measure around and down to the stop/retainer hook on the metal channel in the door,  I think 8' would do it.  I think I got mine from Roberts.

Suppose I should specify that I don't have vent windows, just solid windows. I would measure, but I am ordering parts while I am still at college right now, that way I can put em on when I get home!

my drivers door panel is off so I measured it for you it was just under 4ft. so 8ft will do it for you.

when I posted you had not said that you didn't have vent windows and mine dose so you would have to add for that about another 3ft on to that. I think the vent windows add a lot to the right look plus I just like to use them.

Alright, so I think we have it agreed that:

  • with wing windows: less than 4 feet per door
  • Without wing windows: need the 8 foot section for each door

Correct?

yes because it has to be long enough in the front of the door to hold the glass in place. have you made a channel in the front to hold the window fuzzy channel?

what I should have said enough to hold the front of the window in place WHEN THE WINDOW IS IN THE DOWN POSITION. sorry didn't mean to yell

the fuzzy channel is what the glass slides in but has no rigidity it fits into the door frame at the top and a steel channel in the back of the door what were your plans to hold it in place in the front sounds like I would go to a boneyard and open up a door maybe from an old chevy g van. just a thought.

I didn't know that they came without vent windows so were vent windows back then an option seemed most trucks came with them I had seen some old pilothouse trucks without the vents but I thought that they had been removed but your saying this was the way dodge made them? interesting.

Indeed! I often wish I had em' myself! they were generally an option or came with the deluxe cab, but it seems that they tend to be more of a pain than they are worth generally, due to broken parts and seals.

There were 2 cab options. The Standard cab has no vent windows and no corner glass. The Deluxe and Custom cabs did have vent and corner windows, plus other options depending on which level you went with.
