flint52 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 Hello, i'm new here. Been reading up on the different disc kits available for my 50 dodge meadowbrook i decided to go with the kit from rustyhope. So i called ECI today to order the master cylinder kit ans was told i should rethink my decision as the calipers that are used are to small and wont stop very well. So after that im a little nervous. has anyone used both these parts and stopping well?ThanksRyan Quote
pflaming Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 I used a master cylinder and proportioning valve from a 97 Cherokee. I have GREAT brakes. Quote

pflaming Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 Per Rusty's instructions you have to drill and tap one area, very easy, and then check the bottom mounting bolts. They may be 1/8" to long, so take them off with a power grinder. It's a no brainer installation. Just buy the items he lists. The master cylinder is not from rusty. There is a good post on this back about six months ago. Quote

flint52 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Report Posted May 4, 2013 well it looks like ECI may not be a good option. Is there another kit out there for a dual master? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 rarely will you find a aftermarket kit that does not encounter a bit of difficulty, personal intervention, or a snag here or there...how many of the threads have you read concerning upgrade to disc brakes that are in the archives on this site available to you by using the search feature...you can get a ton of insight here and become a bit more informed and then make your call on whom to use as a source.. flint52 Posted May 4, 2013 Author Report Posted May 4, 2013 been reading/searching for a while. even doing it as i type but many of them are older threads 1-3 years, just seeing if there were any updates on the older threads or new products Quote
Don Coatney Posted May 4, 2013 Report Posted May 4, 2013 (edited) Just because a thread is 3 years old does not mean the information found there has expired. Many old threads have a lot of valuable information not found elsewhere. Edited May 4, 2013 by Don Coatney Quote
