Can anyone tell me how to get my windshield wipers to come to rest in the upright position. I have a 1951 B3C and the wipers are electric and come to rest in the horizontal position. I thought of switching the right for the left and the left for the right, but I'm not sure that's the correct way, or if that would even work. I just like the way they look when they point up and towards the corners of the windshield when turned off. oldbuck_oldtruck

i don't think you easily can.  The linkage has shouldn't determnine where they "rest", it would be in the motor dwell spot I'd say.

They are supposed to rest at the bottom of the glass if it's a 1951-53 truck with electric wipers.

I have the opposite problem. My 1947 P15 wipers work but “ park” in the upright position angled slightly against the windshields center divider. From pictures I’ve studied they are supposed to lay flat against the bottom of each windshield when in the parked or off position. Does any know how to reverse this?  I’m pretty sure they are still vacuum operated.  ... and yes I’m extremely thankful I have any wiper action at all on this car!

The vacuum wipers on my '50 B2B pickup rest just like yours....the blades on mine seem a little longer.  The vacuum wipers on my '50 Meadowbrook lay flat away from the divider.

I have to mess with mine soon- so they are not pushed onto a splined stub like on a modern car?

Edit: meaning the wiper arm itself on the cowl- I know inside are levers and linkages.

Yes, they are on a splined hub like they are nowadays.  Its the arms and linkages below the dash that determine the resting position I believe.
