Hi folks,I have a question,on a PH where the front fender meets the cowl there is a gap about 6" to 8" inchs long that from what I understand takes some sort of rubber seal that maybe has an angeled top that blends the cowl into the fender. It's hard to see in most pictures I have seen posted on the internet,Does anyone know what this piece is called and where can I get it or some thing close?I have tryed looking at rubber suppliers but I really don't know what I'm looking for.

Roberts sells these I bought mine years ago from them.  I think the unofficial name is fender filler.  I understand that a fender welting for an early 50's Ford F series will also work.  I believe that Robert Drake and other aftermarket suppliers sell these.  I did mine so long ago that I don't remember if this item was purchased by the foot and trimmed to length or if they were precut.  Mike

Gizz, not sure if it will help but I've included picture of how I initially found my front guard with fender filler attached. I can take pictures of how I installed the new rubber for you tomorrow as the front is off the truck at present. Have also attached picture from truck manual.

Try the search function in the top right of your screen as you should find details from previous discussions.

The part you are looking for is called a "cowl seal". I bought some through www.dennis-carpenter.com. The seal he sells is just like the original and really looks and fits well. Go to his website and search for part # 7C-16068. They sell this seal to be used for Ford trucks from 1948-52 but it's also the same material that Dodge used. I hope I can post a picture but having a very hard time with this new forum. Use this part! I have a pair from Roberts that I did not use.

Good Luck.
