Bob D Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 I found this on the h.a.m.b. this morning, saved it as it has new 1940 Plymouths on the car carrier, I noticed the two cars in the background. The one on the right is a Packard, maybe '37 or '38, but what is the other car? It looks like a Studebaker to me,but not sure. Quote
greg g Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Looks like a 36/7 Model 120. The upmarket cars had longer headlamp housings. the Vert kinda looks like a 40 Studebaker but I don;t think Studie had thos trim pieces onthe side of the hood. Quote
Daliant. Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) The convertible is a '40 DeSoto. Edited January 27, 2013 by Daliant. Quote
Bob D Posted January 27, 2013 Author Report Posted January 27, 2013 A 1940 DeSoto it is, thanks for all the replies, but I will admit at first I thought it was a Studebaker Quote
randroid Posted January 27, 2013 Report Posted January 27, 2013 Gents, I want to comment on the art deco styling on the car carrier. I suppose it was impractical in many ways but that type of structure was on its way out as our cars were on their way in and what a rare thing it is to see. Nothing speaks for that era the way it does. -Randy Quote
Bob D Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 Randy, I agree with you, that Dodge and the trailer are awesome looking and so was the LaBatt's truck of the same time period and the Airflow tanker trucks Quote
