1950 Plymouth middle windshield trim

I need one, doesn't have to be perfect, just decent driver quality. The one on my car is really pitted, and the only other one I've seen is on ebay for ridiculous money and its in worse shape than mine. I bought another one off ebay that was off of a 51 Chrysler and its about a half inch too short, so that will be up for sale if anyone needs it. Basically just wondering if anybody has one laying around or has a lead on one. I just need the outer chrome part. Or another option I'm considering is getting the one I have redone, so if anybody could recommend a good rechromer and maybe have a ballpark idea of how much it would cost. Thanks

The rule of thumb I have heard for rechroming is $1 a pit plus actual chroming process. You could easily end up with a couple 100 bucks. Your only saving grace is that its a smooth piece not something detailed like a hood ornament.

People ask me how come the centre bar on my 1940 Dodge has no pits.............lol........because its hand made from 2 pieces of brass by me and then chromed..........yep it took a couple of weeks to hacksaw a 1" x 1/2" brass bar lengthways then solder a drilled & tapped 1/4" square rod behind it but........no more pits for me.........lol.......and yep I was young & silly when I did it nearly 40yrs ago, but its still perfect.........it actually wasn't that difficult, just time consuming and fiddly..........regards, andyd
