I bought some fog lights some time ago and lost them:mad:While looking for some gaskets I found them. I got the lights to work after cleaning the housing. I replaced the wires as they were to frail. I do not have a wire diagram as to wiring the lights to a switch. I have a nice metal toggle switch which I would like to use. Can anyone show me how to create a wire st up for the lights?

Rodney,

i have a 39 Desoto and have a similar ign switch that has the armored cable to the coil. On the switch on the hot side. This is the side that when you turn the key to the right the electricity is hot onthe right terminal when lo0oking from inside the car to the outside.

run a wire from theis terminal to a toggle switch or any other switch of your choice. Then run a wire fromt he switch out of the firewall. I use a bakelite one into two connector. the one wire coming out from teh firewall goes intot he single end. The double end is used to connect the wires from each forgligt to the connector.

In theis setup the foglights will only work when the ign switch is turned on and then you do not have the possibility of draining the battery. By having the toggle switch you can turn the lights off and on at will when the car is running.

Use 14 gauge wire or 12 guage wire not 16 g.

The simpleist is powwer through switch through fuse,to lamp. Lamps should self ground through mounting when installed. Or run grounds from light to chssis if necessary.

Thanks all, I think I have it now. The fog lamps are grounded to the mounting hardware. I will use a fuse between the switch and the lamps. The one thing I was concerned about was if the lamps are connected together. Thanks for the wire diagrams:) Things are getting brighter all the time.
