Fernando Mendes Posted November 17, 2012 Report Posted November 17, 2012 1)Today I was changing the engine oil and inspectioning underneath, when saw the first crossmember holes and with my finger tried to find somethings and got dry mud inside it.I will try to clean it with a knife. 2)Another noticed,my engine oil was dripping more easy in the white garage floor.Today when I checked the level it was above and with little viscosity.I think that when months ago I cleaned and changed all the block water I opened the tap and water falls inside the dipstick oil hole.My engine is a IND251 with the water tap over the dipstick oil hole. bach4660 Posted November 18, 2012 Report Posted November 18, 2012 the last oil change was in september 2011 I always forget that you and the Australia guys are getting your trucks out for the summer, as we are all so busy putting ours away for the winter. Quote

ggdad1951 Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 I was still pulling chunks out after I drove FEF for a bit as it rattled loose after years of sitting in there. Quote
tom'sB2B Posted November 20, 2012 Report Posted November 20, 2012 When I bought my truck it was infested with rats. I caught three living in my seat. I also had to pull a nest from the rear crossmember and they chewed through my brake wires. I finally filled the rear crossmember with expanding foam to keep them out. I'm still finding acorns and nesting material in nooks and cracks Quote

Beat on the member with a rubber mallet and a ton of stuff popped loose (and out) Quote
Dan Babb Posted November 21, 2012 Report Posted November 21, 2012 When I was working on my truck, I found a bunch of dried up clay in the cross-member and all over the front of the frame & suspension parts. It looked like one side of the truck sat down in the mud for a while because it was way worse on the passenger side. Down here, there are some bugs that will use the clay to build nests...I found a few of those nests attached to the frame too. Quote
