michael.warshaw Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 Happy rosh hashana to everyone.
fatFreddie Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 GTK..... are we now opening your forum up to religious postings?
RobertKB Posted September 17, 2012 Report Posted September 17, 2012 GTK..... are we now opening your forum up to religious postings? Better not wish anyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year on the forum come December. Don't mention Halloween, Easter, Mardi Gras, or Mother's Day either as they are all tied into the Christian calendar. I think we can take political correctness a little too far. The original posting is just a well wishing for a certain segment of society, some of whom may be on this forum.
Greenbomb Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 I don't celebrate it, but thanks for the kind thought.
dezeldoc Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Back at ya Mikey! I don't celebrate it either not my faith but does not matter.
michael.warshaw Posted September 18, 2012 Author Report Posted September 18, 2012 Not mine either just thought there were somne folk on here that do.
40P10touring sedan Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 This is why I say "happy holidays" to folks I don't know...made the mistake of saying "merry Christmas" to a woman a few years ago and it turned out she was jewish{friend told me after the fact...nice timing}...Ohhhhh, the look I got from her! I meant well, but not from the looks she gave me....I take the safer route now...funny thing too, becuase around here at our church{catholic} they get a tad ruffeled if you say "happy holidays"...you'd get corrected with "I prefer merry christmas, myself".....darned if ya do and darned if ya don't.... maybe I should just pull a burl Ives and say "have a holly jolly...", nope, that won't work either....Maybe scrouge was on to something!
Tom Skinner Posted September 18, 2012 Report Posted September 18, 2012 Mikey, "Holly Happy Days" I once had a girl named Holly and that was back in the Happy Days. Happy New year Mike! And many many more! Tom
Oldguy48 Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Thank you Mike, although I have to admit that I had to google that to find out what it really was, because I had no idea. Wayne
Alexander Posted September 19, 2012 Report Posted September 19, 2012 Jesus actually celebrated it and so did the 12 apostles. The holiday (new year) is called Rosh Hashanah in Hebrew. Happy new year Alex
