knighthawk Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 As some of you know, I live in between all these storms and tornadoes here in Kansas. Last night I was thinking : If you ( I ) had the time, what would you do ,or take, from your garage or shop, if you knew a tornado was comming ? Myself, I went back and got the combination for the gun safe in my "shop office". What would you do, take with you ? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 I'd probably take myself out of the area...PERMANENTLY Birth certificates, SS cards..insurance documents..stuff vital for emergency heath care and identification..definitely my gun..looter if they arive need no more unlawful weapons than they already own.. Norm's Coupe Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 I'd take my wife and myself to a safe location and not worry about anything else. Quote
knighthawk Posted May 7, 2007 Author Report Posted May 7, 2007 How about earthquakes ? Let me re-frase the question : Say you are working on your car, in the shop or garage, you get the warning to get out, and you got a couple minutes, what would you take with you ? Quote
Lou Earle Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 In my case since I gained 30+ lbs since I quit smoking I would take my fat A## because it would take 2 tripsto haul a## and I would be out of time Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted May 7, 2007 Report Posted May 7, 2007 Now that you put it that way..about a quart of that special cleaning fluid... I would grab the can of gasoline for the lawn mowers just to get me that extra mile or two away if needed.. Quote
Reg Evans Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 I'd grab my cell phone and my insurance agents phone number and quickly up the stated value of the cars I left behind. Oh....I'd grab my wife and the 3 mini weiner dogs too. Quote
John Mulders Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 anything happening here I will gas up the Boston Whaler (unsinkable), load up the wife and the dogs. Some supplies like Water and food and lots of sunblock ! Then roll the trailer out from underneath the carport and untie the thing (no use for a trailer!). My guess is that communcation devices won't do me any good, that will be the first thing to stop. I have VHF on board. John Quote
