good vinyl is a bit heavy..and some of the thinner perforated vinyl will shrink and pull away from its own seams..seen that too many times....if going to the trouble...personally I think cloth is your better choice..another alternative is the late headliner polyester faced foam sewn to orginal pattern..your call on any of the three..I jumped through hoops earlier this month chasing down headliners etc..not a fun time i assure you..

I did a redo on the door and kick panels. The question is what material should I redo the headliner. Cloth or vinyl? What color.

I got my headliner from Walmart. Easy to install. Looks very good.

I will go with a light grey or blue cloth. There is a man here that has all the patterns for headliners for old cars. He charges $100 and you bring the material. I had my 57 chevy headliner made there, what a great job. He said it takes a little over 5 yrs material, he even makes the sun visors covers for no charge with the headliner. Thanks for the input everyone.

I was looking at that interior light in your green-trimmed car Robert (was distracted by that bikini'd girl through the back window). That interior light looks very similar to the ones that I have seen in most of my trucks here. Does it happen to look something like the attached? If so, was that the factory interior light for the 38 on your side of the pond?

Yes, this was the factory light. I spent many hours on a very hot day,

to make it look very good. The trim piece is made of brass with a little

chrome left on it, so after polishing it as much as possible, I clear coated it.
