bbbbbb99 Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) Local guy has a 1952 Business coupe that is complete except for tranny and carb and a couple wheels. Looks like it has good bones but will need all rubber replaced to be weatherproof. Surface rust only, no major dents, Aged paint to primer look. What do you think it's worth? Plymouthy Adams Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 depends on whether you have a source for the missing parts..location and condition is everything...check you local Craigslist for comparable..also test the car as described against the e-bay listing...without a personal walk around I don't think anyone could tell the value..ballpark you maybe..but again..you can easily do that with the two sources listed above..Hemmings would be an aid..maybe Auto-Round-up Quote
Niel Hoback Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Simply put, to someone that wants one, quite a bit. To me, $210/ton. Just kidding, but the value is mostly in the buyers eyes. Quote
RobertKB Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 I just bought this '51 Dodge D39 business coupe. The Canadian Dodge is a Plymouth with some Dodge trim so same car basically. Floors are bad but rest of body is good. Trunk floor OK. Like yours, it needs all rubber replaced. Car is pretty complete but needs a few minor items and I have located most of those. It runs but just barely. It pretty much needs everything done to make a nice car. However, I have chased this car for over 15 years and wanted it badly. Price was $1500.00 Canadian and our dollar is basically on a par with yours. I was happy to pay that price. A lot depends on how badly you want the car, the amount of work and money you are prepared to spend, and will it make you happy. I have seen a few other business coupes on the internet go for less and a few for more in the condition my car is in. Hope this helps. Quote
Rusty O'Toole Posted June 19, 2012 Report Posted June 19, 2012 Old Cars Price Guide says 52 Plymouth coupe 111" WB Concord #6 parts car = $500 #5 restorable $1500. Yours would fall in there someplace depending on condition, rust out, missing parts. Quote
bbbbbb99 Posted June 20, 2012 Author Report Posted June 20, 2012 Thanks guys. Pretty much confirmed what I thought Quote
