OT - New '63 Fairlane or Turning 100,000 -OT

Kind of off topic but still to do with old cars. As most of you know, I love the old Chrysler flatties and have four cars with that engine, three of them on the road. However, in 1979, I bought a 1963 Ford Fairlane with 52,000 miles on it. It had had a fire under the hood but after replacing what needed replacing, I drove it as a daily drive until about 1985. Since then it has become a family-time old car and is great for longer road trips as it has the 260 CID V8 and will cruise all day at 75+ MPH. This car is a true survivor. The blue has been repainted but the white is original. Interior is original. The motor has never been opened. It still drives like it is new even though it is a FORD:eek:.

Anyway, took my wife out today on a Mother's Day Cruise and turned the famous 100,000 miles. As everyone knows, with the older cars this means returning to 00000.0 and going from there. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful time with my beautiful wife. Enough. Time for pics as I know everyone loves those. Last picture was taken with .5 miles on the odometer with the camera on a fence post with the timer set.

Nice Fairlane!

I'm looking for something like that - or a Cyclone, or maybe a Comet or Falcon - preferably with a 4-speed and a V8 - to use as a daily driver.

Hope I can find one as nice as yours.

Congratulations on "turning it over". Really clean looking dash there.

You ever see the movie "Christine"...oh wait a minute, that was backwards to zero.....hehehe.

Clean ride sir, almost reminds me of my old 62 galaxie when I was 20.

Gonna try for "zero" again?! ;)

My first glance made me think it was identical to the '61 Ford that my Dad had as commuter vehicle when I got my drivers license. I think it was a Galaxy but it could have been a Fairlane. All I remember is that it was a dog of a car with stiff controls and rattles everywhere. If I recall correctly it had vacuum wipers too. The family car, a '63 Plymouth Suburban, was an absolute dream to drive and ride in compared to that Ford.
