nicmar09 Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 I was wondering if someone could tell me what fitting threads into the fuel tank on a 1947 p15? I belive its 5/16, but also does anyone know what type of flare is used? Quote
TodFitch Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 I don't have a P15 so this is second hand, but I think there is supposed to be a ferrule in there. Might want to do a search on the forum about that. Quote
Harold M Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 It is a strange fitting with a ferrule I used a fitting that goes into a master cyl with the brass sealing ring Quote
Young Ed Posted May 10, 2012 Report Posted May 10, 2012 Its basically two standard flares with a ferrule that has two flare seats one on each end. I thought I had a picture of mine but can't find it. I too lost my first one and Dad made me one using his drill press a file and a brass fitting of some sort. Quote
TodFitch Posted May 11, 2012 Report Posted May 11, 2012 original and replacement made from a nylon post from lowe'sEDIT: If using the nylon post I would suggest making it longer than the one in the pic. The diameter of the post is smaller than the original ferrule, and will be less likely to get in there sideways if made a bit longer. How does nylon hold up to exposure to ethanol? Quote
