dave5711
Just curious, as I know a lot of 60's stuff was in the 3k range. What did a 48/49 b1b go for? or even a 1 ton? Any input appreciated.
ggdad1951
I've heard if you wanted your box color to match your cab color it was a $5 add.
B1B Keven
My grandfather sold these trucks new. He told me mine, '49 B1B, sold for between $900 and $1000. Mark is close, the painted bed option was $10.
dave5711
nice. I've often wondered why some had beds that didn't match
Young Ed
I think the majority of them had black boxes. The prior 39-47 trucks the box itself was body color but all the fenders were black unless you paid extra. It was one fee for the fronts and another for the backs. Rusty O'Toole
In 1955 and 56 you could buy a new pickup with V8 and stick shift for under $1500. Some hot rodders who wanted a new OHV V8, bought the pickup trucks because they could not afford the Chevy Bel Air hardtop they really wanted. Bel Air, Plymouth Fury or Ford Fairlane hardtop, with options, $2500. Cheapest 2 door post with V8, stick shift and nothing else, $1800. Stripped pickup with V8 and stick, $1400 to $1500.
