Harold M Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 After 4yrs. working on my Ply, I am losing a little momentum. I just visited with a friend I knew was doing the model A he had in high school. He had just started the engine, he said it had been 42 yrs. since he tore it down. Quote
Young Ed Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 Wow I don't feel so bad about my coupe then! I took it for a little drive around the neighbor hood today. I'm tempted to just spray the whole car with black rustoleum. I wonder how it would look just sanded a little and painted? Maybe attempt some amature body work.... Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 Harold, That's not so bad. Took 30 years for this 36 Ford to look this way. Now, the front clip is off again and the engine is being replaced by a little larger flathead. Actually the engine in it now runs good and has been rebuilt. He rebuilt another engine and that one ended up being toast because it had a small crack internally in the block. Then another engine was rebuilt for it and should be going in this weekend. I bought my coupe in 1995 and started out going great guns. Then after getting the interior in, engine rebuilt, installing front disc brakes and making it road worthy it's sort of slowed down. Still have some body work to do though. Lately the mind has been willing but the old body isn't most of the time. Quote
Harold M Posted April 28, 2007 Author Report Posted April 28, 2007 My neighbor has two 16inch spoked wheels in nice shape for 35 ford if any one is interested, I could see what he wants for them. Quote

Jim Yergin Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 I bought my P12 wagon in October of 1988 and have been working on it off and on ever since. Still not back on the road. It is a good thing that I enjoy the process. Jim Yergin Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 It is not the speed at which it is finsihed..it is the speed it will go when finished... Quote

Harold, this person has 3 sets of wheels for that car. One of them are the spoked wheels. Also has a couple of others sitting outside the garage on stands for decoration. Quote
Phill Powell Posted April 28, 2007 Report Posted April 28, 2007 10yrs & counting for my coupe, 25yrs+ for my mates coupe & I could go on. The thrill of the catch is in the chase - lot of running on spot going on, still as they said when I was teen - "keeps him of the street at night" (& the day) Quote
