I will be converting my 1941 business coupe to 12V and have a Mopar alternator for the swap. The pulley is the narrow kind on it. Where can I get a pulley to match the width for the wider belts? I assume there are others who have swapped pulleys on these alternators.

I figured that someone out there sells them. Mine is pressed on to the shaft. There is plenty of info for the GM style swaps but I wasn't able to find anything on the Mopar alternator. I will get the old pulley off and make a few phone calls to some local electric motor shops.

you would probably find a crank and fan pulley easier..unless of course you decide to go with a tad newer Chrysler alt with the bolt on serpentine style and alter it..not sure if I ever recall a 5/8 pulley for the early alt.

Like Tim says change the crank and fan pullys, thats what i did on my 50 P19. I did not want any gm junk on the Mopar!

With you on the GM junk. No imbreeding here. I got the pulley off, simple. Now to find one that will work for it. I already have the crank and water pump pulley's painted and installed so I would rather look for an alternator pulley.

Not sure if I can turn it down. The width of the entire pulley sits into the v of the water pump pulley. I have called a few places and they don't sell press fit pulleys. Only keyed pulleys. Wonderful. Keep on looking.
