Can anyone tell me what the tags on the rearend mean? I am guessing the 336 is the ratio?

In Jeep engine for example, this marks in block means date of delivery.

not your ratio...look for that either stamped on the hog head just in front and maybe below the oil fill plug passenger side or more likely on the very top of the hog head where it inserts into the banjo..

I found the same numbers on my 1949 B1B rearend . The rearend looks like a 8 3/4, the pumpkin is in the front. The only other rear end I have found would be a Ford. My truck is geared very low. I would like to upgrade it to be able to cruise at 65 to 70. I would like to un-bolt and bolt a different rearend in. Any suggestions.

Use the search function to find information. Many people have swapped in jeep rear ends that are easy and near a direct swap. Anything is possible though, you can do anything you want! Post a picture of your truck for use to see :D
