OldDad67 Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 Can you interchange the upper "A" arms from right to left on a P-15? They both look the same but I thought I'd ask the experts before I get into trouble. Quote
thrashingcows Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I'm not an expert...but I think so long as the shock mount is removable then you can flip them from side to side. But I will defer to what a "real" expert has to say. Quote
Andydodge Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I just went & checked the pair I took off the 1941 Plymouth Coupe.....I swapped them for a pair from a 46-48 Plymouth that had new inner pivots installed. The 1941 set were indentical to the 46/48 set and I just sat the 41's on top of each other and they appeared to be the same. If there was an "offset" this would have been evident sitting one on top of the other but there wasn't........therefore I conclude that they are the same.....once the upper shock pin is removed............now this is in Australia using mopar parts that were sent from the USA........lol..........regards, andyd Quote
old rat 49 Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 (edited) Parts book shows different numbers though. ERROR See below Edited February 6, 2012 by old rat 49 Quote
james curl Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 If the part number is for the upper A arm assembly then right and left would have different parts numbers because of the difference in the shock mount location and the cross shaft. If it is for just the bare A arm then there must be a difference in the basic part. Quote
old rat 49 Posted February 6, 2012 Report Posted February 6, 2012 I stand corrected. UPPER ams are SAME part number. Lowers have different numbers. Quote
OldDad67 Posted February 6, 2012 Author Report Posted February 6, 2012 I stand corrected. UPPER ams are SAME part number. Lowers have different numbers. Thanks guy's appreciate the information and your time. Looks like the bare arms are the same just need to change the shock mounts, but I don't need the upper shock mount cause I'm going with the frame mount shock. Quote
