Powerhouse Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 Anyone know where I can find a new Oil Gauge to Engine Hose? I just replaced a seven year old hose...only developed a leak a month or so ago. Pretty good. I installed a new one I just ordered and the thing leaked right away. Not out of the threaded ports...out of both ends of the crimped portions. The hose looked great too. My oil pump is original, still works fine though. Anyone else have this problem with the hoses? Robert Horne Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 I used a new flexable hose that are made for grease guns. 1990 or so, Mazda trucks have a similar hose also, about 8 inchs long. Quote
martybose Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 I replaced the block fitting with an AN fitting, bought an IFF to AN adapter for the hard line to the gauge, and bought a pre-assembled AN 3 teflon-lined high pressure hose; no leaks at all! http://www.anplumbing.com Marty Quote
greg g Posted January 29, 2012 Report Posted January 29, 2012 I had one made at a local hydraulic equipment place for about ten bucks. A friend is using a flex brake hose. Quote
Powerhouse Posted January 30, 2012 Author Report Posted January 30, 2012 (edited) OK FOLKS....with the kind help of some forum members I located this from NAPA... UP 36961 - $10.49 /ea Brake Hose End Type : Female - 3/8"-24 & Female - 3/8"-24 Brake Hose Length : 7.625" Caution Statement : Do Not Use w/ Petroleum-Based Fluids - Designed Only For Use w/ DOT Approved Silicone Or Glycol-Based Brake Fluids The supplier I order the first one from is sending me another (no charge this time) Hopefully this one works. But I am carrying a backup oil line cap off just in case this one blows when I am on the road. Kinda not what you want to do when you buy a "new" replacement part. But better safe than sorry. SOME INFO I GATHERED ON THE OTHER HOSE OPTIONS: • 1/4" rubber hose (Goodyear), and two 3/16" female inverse flare fittings with hose barbs and little yellow collars. • oil gauge line from a Mazda truck 1988 to 1993 • CarQuest brake hose # SP5772 • NAPA UP 36961 - $10.49 /ea Brake Hose End Type : Female - 3/8"-24 & Female - 3/8"-24 Brake Hose Length : 7.625" Caution Statement : Do Not Use w/ Petroleum-Based Fluids - Designed Only For Use w/ DOT Approved Silicone Or Glycol-Based Brake Fluids Edited January 30, 2012 by Powerhouse Quote

Alshere59 Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 If nothing else there is this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/140577353906?_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&item=140577353906&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&vxp=mtr Quote
Powerhouse Posted February 3, 2012 Author Report Posted February 3, 2012 I was able to put a hose together with brass fitting and 1/4" red hose. Works great. The supplier is going to send me a different one. He asked if it looked old stock. I said it sure smelled like it. He is going to see if they are sending out old ones. He said they should be new. Robert Horne Posted February 4, 2012 Report Posted February 4, 2012 If nothing else there is this one.http://www.ebay.com/itm/140577353906?_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649&item=140577353906&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT&vxp=mtr I would not trust these units that are old stock. NOS, old stock rubber just seems unsafe. Quote
