aero3113 Posted December 6, 2011 Report Posted December 6, 2011 Here is a quick video of me running up one of our SNJ-2's, it has a Pratt and Whitney R-1340 radial engine on it. We have the airplane in for inspection and thought you guys would like to see the plane somewhat apart.(click on the pic) Quote

They have a great collection of WWII planes every year along with the encampment. I show my 39 Desoto every year. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote

greg g Posted December 7, 2011 Report Posted December 7, 2011 Have always wondered what purpose the construction of tubing between the flight crew positions has. Is it just a canopy brace, roll over bar, or a place to lift the plane for ground or ship transport??? Quote

You can remove 4 small bolts some wire and tubing and lift the fuselage from the wing using the "roll bar" as a lifting point. Quote
