1940plymouth Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Randy, Welcome to the best forum on the web. You have a great looking Plymouth and good luck with it. When you say the engine is bad, what is wrong with it? There are all sorts of good vendors out there that sell the necessary items to get these old flatheads running again. These engines are really remarkable and dependable Quote

Young Ed Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Looks good. You'll have fun getting it going and even more once you can drive it. Of course being in SD you've got about 5 months of time to just work on it. Quote
Randy L Peterson Posted December 4, 2011 Author Report Posted December 4, 2011 Drove 40 miles into MN and Hit SNOW.. Dont have any here in Flandreau Yet.. THe engine has some spun rod bearings as well as a couple of main bearings.. The bore is .040 and wrist pins were rubbing on the cylinder wall on a few cylinders.. SO going for another engine.. Should be a fun car My Hobby is Stationary engines and old tractors so I guess this fits the Collector (Horder) Catagory LOL.. MY goal is to get it going and spend the rest of my life trying to wear it out.. Randy L Peterson Quote

BobT-47P15 Posted December 4, 2011 Report Posted December 4, 2011 Welcome, Randy. Great looking car.....doesn't look to need much, aside from the motor. Lots of questions get asked and answered here. If you've been reading the forum, as a guest, you may have seen some suggestions made---such as---highly advisable that a car owner purchase both a repair and parts manual for the model; and also that you can search for topics previously discussed by using the "search" feature at the upper right of the main forum page. So, jump in and have fun. Quote
