Went to move my 55 today, first time moving itself in 6 years.

The clutch will not fully engage, and therefore not getting too much power to trans and rear wheels.

Now this clutch may be old and need replacing, but was working 6 years ago.

I have not played with any linkage, so not sure exactly why she will not engage, so drove her back intot he garage.

The plus side, she is running very well, engine temp 160 or so, and good oil pressure, not burning oil either.....

Happy Thanksgiving. Do you have any free travel at the top of your clutch pedal? You should have 3/4" to 1 ". If there is no free travel, your clutch may just need adjustment. You can also go underneath and try to rotate the linkage by hand at the pivot (towared the pedal up position). The throwout bearing or clutch linkage may be hanging up on something and not allowing it to fully engage. Good luck-let us know what you find. Mike

Happy Thanksgiving to you too Mike. I have more than enough free play on top, 2 plus inches, nothing seems to be hanging up, unless the release bearing or pressure plate is sticking. I know the clutch worked before it was parked, it may have been good and worn, but it is slipping so bad the truck hardly moves, and the brakes are sticking, it rolls fine. So not sure exactly whats up yet......thanx Fred

May have torn the lining off the disc, piled some up inside the pressure plate. It won't pull and usually won't release either.

I don't really see why, there is no noise, and the clutch pedal was always moving, it was never forced as if it were stuck. But you never know, I really think when y67ou let go of the clutch pedal, it is not engagefully, as if something is stuck, there is like 2- 3inches of clutch pedal free play.....thanx Happy Thanksgiving

inspect and adjust as needed...guess is just what you doing here without taking advantage of havint the truck in front of you..I assure you if I had the truck in front of me the last thing I would be doing is asking questions on here..and then and only then would I back up and regroup and check the process of elimination..troubleshoot this thing...

You know me Tim, that I's gonna figure this ole problem out, and of course I did so lemme explain hear, Good Buddy.

Early this morning, my Sweet Young Wife(shes 9 years my junior), was leavin to go into town, so She had her SUV in front of the bay I had truck in.

So as she is in driveway in Her car, I pull out Dixie, and that is when I figured my clutch was or may have been slipping.

Partially true, this after noon noticed more free play in clutch pedal, and got under the truck, to discover the clutch throw out was sticking a bit, so worked that out.

Right about supper time, was grilling nice big juicy sirloins, when I get the notion to back ole Dixie out, and I did. It snowed here about a week ago, and although it was very warm here today, there was a build up of packed snow and ice on my driveway, my back end of the truck is so light, I was spinning the rear wheels, and did not notice in the morning, drove onto some gravel and no problem, checked all gears, it sounds not bad.

You know me, I like to talk, so sometimes, my threads are what is going on, and I like to share that.

Will of course try and continue with the systematic process of elimination methods on this and future problems.

On the bright side, this engine with a 12 volt set-up spins like a MF, and starts super easy, as compared to my 6 volt Chrysler, with electric choke, and my 6 volt set-up, is in good shape. Today I also added another fuel filter before the fuel pump, so now have 2 fuels filters and glass bowl strainer, they all look fairly clean so far......
