jchalk1949 Posted November 12, 2011 Report Posted November 12, 2011 From left are origional, Pioneer PG-365-25, and Andy Bernbaum. Hopefully the attachement showes that the Bernbaum bolts threads are not as high up the bolts as the Pioneer, which is close to the origional. Who cares? You may if you spend top dollar for the Bernbaum bolts. They seem to seal well one time. After that they stretch, and may or may not seal properly. Basically they bottom out. I've bought a lot from Andy Bernbaum, and in no way am I trying to slam him, but I am glad I bought the Pioneer bolts, as his are junk, and are about 3 times as much. Quote

The issue might be when you go to remove the head in the future. Rust takes more space than the metal it was formed with. The undercut along the shank of the official head bolts is enough that even if it expanded some with rust in the section that goes through the cooling passages it will still be able to be removed.
