Allan Parkhurst Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 I made a steering wheel puller from two horseshoes. I cut a space out of each to slip over the column, one from each side to make a circle. I pre drilled two holes so i could bolt them together after the were under the steering wheel. I cut 4 pieces of radiator hose, and cut lengthwise to cover the shoe and protect the steering wheel. I used a 3 leg puller connected to the shoe and tightned. One tap with a rubber hammer and it came off. Cost is $000 unless you buy a horse. I will try to attach pictures. http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1948.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1950.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1974.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1973.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1972.jpg http://i93.photobucket.com/albums/l79/allanparkhurst/100_1971.jpg Quote

Allan Parkhurst Posted April 15, 2007 Author Report Posted April 15, 2007 Thanks for the comments. Just for a note I used a round shoe used on a Quater Horse, most people that have horses should have some laying around. If someone need a set I will make another one. I enjoy getting tips from club members so it was my turn. Quote
Ken_Hart Posted April 18, 2007 Report Posted April 18, 2007 Very timely, I need to pull mine from the steering shaft and I was wondering how to tackle it. Now I need to see what I can use as a substitute for horse shoes (I dont have a horse)... what have others used for this application Quote
