48P15Annie Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 I'll cut to the chase without all the garbage... I think my fuel float is sticking. Any remedies? Quote
greg g Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Pull it out and clean it, make sure your float is not leaking, and is at the proper level (actually a little lower works better with todays fuel) and manke sur the little clip that secures the float pivot pin is correctly in place. Also pull needle from its seat and make sure it is clean. Quote
Robert Horne Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 The best carb cleaner I have found so far is from Carquest. Quote
Rusty O'Toole Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Try tapping on the float bowl (not too hard) to jar it loose. If that does not work you will have to take the top off the carburetor. Or get a kit and do an overhaul. Shake the float, if there is gas inside you will have to repair or replace it. Quote
48P15Annie Posted October 29, 2011 Author Report Posted October 29, 2011 I mean in the gas tank...sorry for the confusion... Quote

oldmopar Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 Try a electronics parts spray cleaner to clean up the sending unit it cleans the electronic stuff but does not leave any residue like a oil based product will. Spray it and move the arm up and down to allow the cleaner to clean the reostat . Quote
