55 Fargo Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Does anyone know if the fuel sedner, on a 1955 Dodge truck, is a screw on tpye, or does it attach with 5 screws. Quote
grey beard Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 All the truck fuel senders I've ever seen secure with a 3-tab lock ring. This is fairly common in the industry. My own Dodge is a '48, and this is how it is arranged. The larger truck tanks I have dropped all have similar arramgements. LOL Quote
Young Ed Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 My 46 uses the 5 screws as mentioned. Quote
oldmopar Posted October 10, 2011 Report Posted October 10, 2011 Like GB my 48 truck has the 3 tab lock ring also my 60 d300 and my 52 suburban all have the lock ring not sure when they switched over but I would guess you truck also has the lock ring Quote
William Davey Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 My 1955 uses a 3 tab locking ring. Quote
Desotodav Posted October 12, 2011 Report Posted October 12, 2011 The trucks that I have seen here in Oz seemed to have changed from the 3 tab lock ring type to the screw in type when they changed from 6V to 12V (sometime around 1953?). Desotodav Quote
