Jim Shepard Posted September 14, 2011 Report Posted September 14, 2011 It seems to me that there was a cork gasket in the block where the distributor goes when I overhauled the motor. I don't seem to have one in the gasket kit I received for the overhaul. Can one be had at an auto parts store? Quote
MBF Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Jim, I'm not sure what the diameter is, but you may find a sediment bowl gasket from a small engine would be close. NAPA sells those. Mike Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted September 15, 2011 Report Posted September 15, 2011 Correct sized rubber O-ring will work too. Quote

HanksB3B Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 The Felpro Gasket set I purchased for a complete engine rebuild has one, but try to get one individually. Any one have a brother in-law that works for Felpro ? Hank Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Make one out of thick cork- east enough. Quote
Dave72dt Posted September 18, 2011 Report Posted September 18, 2011 Check out your small engine repair facilities. Cork gaskets may be used on oil fill tubes, gas tanks. Carb gaskets can be trimmed if the insdie dimension is right. Implement dealers can often access single gaskets so you might check an old Massey dealer, might be AGCO now. Quote
