Don Jordan Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 This has been going on for weeks and I don't know how it works. I bought some molding clips - they were too big and appeared to be the wrong ones. I bought another set and was assured these were right. What am I doing wrong? The clips are too big for the hole. What holds the molding to the car? The clips don't seem to fasten to any thing. Are there different clips for different years? This is becoming extremely frustrating. The clips will fit but with a little bit of prodding. Is there an SOP for putting the molding on? I'm not even sure which way is up. Thank you for your patience. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 4, 2011 Report Posted September 4, 2011 the clip should have two ears on it that when inserted..the stationary one sets the clips parallel nd the bendable one set the and locks the clip in the square receiving hole..something looks a bit amiss about the clip you have pictured.. RobertKB Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 I don't believe you have the right clips. I posted these pictures on your last thread about your travails. I believe these are what you need. I paid good money for them for ebay but they were perfect (check your previous thread). I believe I also told you how to install them in that thread. I still have two new ones and I can scamble together six of the old ones as you need eight total. If they do not work you can certainly return them to me. PM or email if interested. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 5, 2011 Report Posted September 5, 2011 as RB clearly shows in the picture of the correct clip..the stationary tab and the bending tab that secures it into the rectangular hole..once you have the correct clip in hand ther will be no question to the way it fits Quote
