Looks like it could be fun, but I don't see much for lodging in the area. Quote

Roadkingcoupe Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Quote Thanks for the photos' date=' some great looking cars. Was the teal colored one next to the '39 a '40 coupe?[/quote'] The teal colored car beside the 1939 Plymouth Coupe is a rare 1939 Plymouth Rumble seat Coupe. 1939 was the last year for the rumble seat in a Plymouth. Looks like it is a P8 model as it has the belt molding that extends rearward from the hood. Probably has the column shifter as well. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 19, 2011 Report Posted July 19, 2011 Sounds like you all had a good time, despite Mark A's problems. Sorry to hear the negative news, Mark. I know you've put a lot of work into that car. Thanks for the reporting, Greg....always good to hear of the adventures of others. Welcome, Steve. You can keep those posts coming from now on. Quote

Often times it's more fun than hotels anyway. My Mother and Sister live about 70 miles from there too, in Brownsburg. A good reason to go down for a visit. Merle Quote
greg g Posted July 20, 2011 Author Report Posted July 20, 2011 Got a voice mail from Mark A. he got back to St louise at around 7PM. Got the car securred in the garage. Post mortem will proceed when and if it cools down. Guess it was 99 on both the temp and humidity scales yesterday. He sounded relieved that his misadventures are over, and glad to be off the road. No Plymouths left behind, ever forward. Quote
1940plymouth Posted July 20, 2011 Report Posted July 20, 2011 Good to hear he is home safe and sound Quote

Yeah I was working out near Gateway Raceway close to St. Louis yesterday and wondered if I would see him coming on the interstate. It was very hot yesterday and will continue to be close to 100 degrees until at least Saturday night they say. Quote
