jamesadams
Got a chance at a 52 F-3,this truck has a factory pickup bed, wider and deeper than a 1/2 ton.I have not seen it in 20 years, but was running and solid then. Big flathead V-8, 4-speed. Considering it passes my inspection, and remains complete, and belongs to a friend (no haggling)Does the asking price of 500$, about what it would bring at the crusher, sound reasonable? Does not include original wheels,15 inch white spokes included. Edited June 6, 2011 by jamesadams More details
41/53dodges
for a solid truck, $500 is good! even though it's a ford,i wouldnt every send them to a crusher!
george c
I have a '51 F5 that I'm just parting out. Though it has a good cab and a lot of good dash parts as well as rear end and 4 speed trans. If you need any parts just let me know. George
Dave72dt
Definitely worth the price. I can help with some sources for parts if you need them. Keep the flathead V8. They have a unique sound to them that I fell in love with the first time I heard one. Stock cu in. was only 239 but bored and stroked can reach 276 and all sorts of go-fast goodies are available. Stock tires were 16 or 17's with a 4.56 rear- not a highway cruiser. They also came with 2 cab options. Easy to know if you got the fancy one by looking at the windshield. It'll have a strip of stainless in the window molding. Personally think they're better proportioned than the 1/2 tons. Cool truck!
jamesadams
Thanks for the repies. I will check on it this weekend. My buddy said his dad was gonna haul it for scrap if i don't buy it. Man, i don't need another project, but hate to see it meet its doom, although our local scrap man is pretty savvy. He saves most anything old worth saving. Next project: convincing my wife this is an investment! She really is a trooper when it comes to my "projects",but everybody has their limit! Dave72dt
Tell her you're building it for her and then ask what color she'd like it.
