  1. That would be mine. It's in central Oregon south of Bend. By the way it doesn't have chrome grill bars either. Though it's a B3VX-190 so a little difference in the grill. I've also decided to sell it since I don't have the time for so many projects. Anyone interested contact me through PM, I'm open to all offers! George
  2. My '48 has a GM Corporate 14 bolt in the rear and a Dana 44 front end. 318 with a 727 and a 208 transfercase. It all fits and works perfectly. George
  3. I'm in the process of building a 48B1D 4x4. I've boxed the frame from one end to the other removed a couple of redundant crossmembers. The running gear (axles and suspension) came from a 79 Chev 3/4 ton with 10 bolt front and 14 bolt rear and a 6 inch lift. The engine/trans/xfer case came from a 78 W150 (318 2bbl, 727 and 208). I just put the cab back on to mock up the toe board and fire wall. Still a long way to go slowly working it through. George
  4. Bob, I thought my 51 B3VX was a 3.5 ton? You have the only 4 ton I know of. George What am I thinking you said Y not V, I need to pay more attention! G
  5. Mike I have at least six or eight of them with tires all holding air? I don't know where you are so shipping might be a problem, but you're welcome to them! George
  6. Keven, just let me know where to ship it? 48D the BBQ is one of the things that keep me working on my truck! I'd love to bring my B3VX-190 twin screw but the top speed makes it way too prohibitive to drive and it's too darned big to haul! G
  7. 48D, been here all along! Just not much for me to post about? You guys have all the expertice on these trucks! My 48B1D is now a 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 318/727/208 combo. Still in the mock up stages. No body work started yet. Frame boxed all suspension and running gear mounted. Much too cold to spend time in the shop right now though! The tailgate letters come individually so they're easier to install. The mask will probably need to be the same way only painted one letter at a time. The spacing of the letters makes it difficult to do as one piece unless you have plenty of eperience working with vinyl. But if you want to try a one piece mask I can certainly make you one! George
  8. I ceated the file for the letters that sit on top of the tailgate letters. I've only had one person from Texas request a set! A template for the letters is much harder to make because of the spacing. I can however make one if you want to try it? George
  9. I use electrolysis extensively. I use one of those storage containers they sell at the box stores for a few bucks, don't know how many quarts but 15 gallons of water fits in with plenty of room for your rusty stuff. I use washing soda I got online because no one here carries it. For 15 gallons it takes one cup of washing soda, it's stronger than baking soda. I use about six pieces of rebar that is wired together with electric fence wire (I had a roll). Apiece of rebar across the length of the container to hang your rust from. Hook the ground of a small battery charger to the hanger and the positive to the rods around the edge. The amount of time it takes depends on the amount of rust. I just did my cab mounts and I left them in about 6 hours, they were nasty, once removed be sure to clean right away, they will start to surface rust fairly quickly. The positive thing about using electrolysis is it doesn't remove any good material just the rust, unlike vinegar or other acids. George
  10. Reg, What are the external mirrors off from? George
  11. I'm in the middle of the road? I have my '48 B1D that is 4x4 with a 318 and 727, a work in progress. But I also have a '51 B3-VX 190 that apparently according to Don Bunn they made like thirty something in 1951 & 1952 so that must be restored as stock as possible. George
  12. If the Ford will fit I have a four speed in storage, I'll go check it tomorrow for the fatty spring and send it on to you. George
  13. I have a '51 F5 that I'm just parting out. Though it has a good cab and a lot of good dash parts as well as rear end and 4 speed trans. If you need any parts just let me know. George
