JIPJOBXX Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 Will 12 volts tail lights work in a six volt system? I think they will but will not be very bright? Quote
randroid Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 JIPJOBXX, They're like us; they will work but aren't very bright. If there's any resistance in the circuit they may not even glow at all so the bottom line is "maybe". What sort of scheme you planning that you might want to swap them? I hope it's a hair-brained one because those might not always be the best but they're usually the most fun. -Randy Quote
greg g Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 Should be titled Half @$$€d question as the lights will light half way. So the brake element will look like runing lights, and the runing light will be very dim if they light at all. If you are talking about trailer lights, just get a set of the magnetic ones or make ups a set that clamp on and fit them with 6v bulbs. Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 4, 2011 Report Posted June 4, 2011 Will 12 volts tail lights work in a six volt system? I think they will but will not be very bright? Probably would work great in your garage or driveway. I, personally, would not head out on the road with them. Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted June 4, 2011 Author Report Posted June 4, 2011 Hay you got my jest about the lights as I already have magnetic tail lights but just was wondering about the juice and how much light they would put out. Guess I will just break for the blubs and be done with it. And Don no projects in site all are done for now! Will take pictures of the 42 with Grandma in tow. Quote
