Mike,

On the Fulton visor that I had, the two side brackets had tabs on them that were secured with screws inside of both door jambs. Then there was a center bracket that clamped onto the windshield center divider piece. If I am not mistaken, other types clamped onto the rain gutters on each side. You want to be sure that it is fastened correctly because these things absorb a good deal of wind draft and have been known to blow off if not tightly secured:eek:.

Good luck to you.

That visor is close to a Fulton, but I don't believe it is one.

The Fultons have this bracket on the ends.......and on the disc it

usually says Fulton.

Looks to be mounted correctly on the car.

I would have to say that if it's the visor that came off the car, and it was screwed into the body somewhere, than there should be screw holes from before. I can see the center support in your second picture but it's hard to determine if the side brackets are clamped to the gutter, or wraped around it to attach to the inside of the A-pillar.

By the way... your car looked quite good even before your restoration.

I was looking for the picture where Norm's sunvisor flipped over while he was driving. Anyone save that picture?

If you did your homework and searched the forum for "Fulton" you will have found several threads dealing with your question.

There is a real wealth of information on this forum if you take the time to search and read.

Bob' date='

All those mystery bidders are like some of the greedy ebay sellers. I've actually had to send notices to a few sellers and have them remove an auction. At least 3 or 4 times I've found exact copies of the Fulton Sunvisor pages I posted on my website, for sale on ebay. Recently I got an email from someone telling me that they were for sale on ebay. Sent that seller the same notice and he/she also pulled the auction immediately after receiving the notice.

At least one or two did come back and say they did it as a service. Told them to do the people a real service and give them the link to get the instructions "Free" like they are supposed to be. After all, anyone who can bid on something on ebay can also get the instructions off my site for free. For the record, I don't care who prints them off as long as they don't profit from it.

Bottom line, you really have to watch some of these sellers. For any potential seller reading this, that page is copy written and I do check the Fulton visor sales from time to time. (Evidently someone is helping me too.) I will take the necessary action if I see those pages being sold![/quote']

Did that not happen because Norm did not have the center bracket attached. Without the center brace that attaches to the center window bar, there is a good chance the visor will flip over.

I have had mine on with center bracket, drove in plenty of wicked winds as well as big trucks creating a hurricane when travelling on 2 lane highways.....

Had you followed the link I posted you would have read this.

The visor on that Plymouth is a Fulton. You can tell by the brackets on the sides. Fulton's did not come with a bracket to the hood or cowl body. They all attached to the windshield center bar. I have an original Fulton instruction sheet. That's where I took the information from to put on my web site. So' date=' that is a home made bracket.

BobT:

As a lot of you know I had the Fulton fly back on me. Then a little later I discovered a leak in my center bar. Here's a little additional information on that subject.

Last week I pulled the center bar on my coupe. Had bought new center bar weather strip to put in there. However, when I pulled the inside center bar I was able to determine exactly where the center bar weather strip was leaking due to rust on the back of the inside center bar. Evidently it had leaked for a long time and I didn't realize it. The leak was originating from the second screw from the bottom of the center bar. That is just below where the Fulton center bracket is attached to the center bar. That screw hole in the weather strip was slightly larger in diameter than the others in the center bar. That tells me that the constant pulling of air under the Fulton causes constant pulling on that particular screw and over time works that hole larger than the rest.

Since the rest of the weather strip looked good I just left it on the car. Then put extra sealer in that hole when I put the new outside center bar on.

This may be an area for people who have a visor on their car or truck to keep an eye on.[/quote']

Mike, my visor is a Fulton, however part of the centre bracket was missing and rather than have the original style bracket which was VERY flimsy, a mate & me fabricated this centre bracket out of stainless steel, also the end brackets on mine are different to the other Fulton visor in a previous pic. My personal opinion is that unless you are 100% certain that you have ALL the original brackets & clamps etc and they are STRONG, then I would NOT use the visor.......they don't look pretty folded neatly up into your roof panel..............lol.........I wanted the "look", I wasn't concerned about originality........andyd
