Alshere59 Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Power is out for a large area so probably won't get an answer right away. Hit the Bridgeton, Saint Ann area which are both by the Airport. I have a lot of family there. All of them are fine. Edited April 23, 2011 by Alshere59 Quote
P-12 Tommy Posted April 23, 2011 Report Posted April 23, 2011 (edited) Alshere59, If I remember correctly, isn't Fairborn near Xenia? I know you guys have had your share of storms over the years. Tornadoes, one in 1974 and another years later. I used to haul bulk tanker cement out of Fairborn back in the 90's. Tom Edited April 24, 2011 by P-12 Tommy Quote
Jim Saraceno Posted April 24, 2011 Report Posted April 24, 2011 We were having a fairly gentle spring rain when the tornadoes touched down about 8 miles away. You've heard about the quiet before the storm... well we got the quiet and they got the storm. Reports say that over 2700 buildings were damaged last night. These are the third set of tornadoes to hit within 10 miles of us since New Year's Eve. I starting to feel like we signed up the the "Tornado of the month club". Quote

I moved here after retiring from the Military 2 years ago so I wasn't here for those tornado's but have read and heard about them. Quote

50 Deluxe Posted April 25, 2011 Report Posted April 25, 2011 We have had some real winners lately, about a month ago a branch (5" round) fell on my trucks hood, it cost $3000 to fix it. This weekend I had my brand new (less than 1K) Town and Country in the driveway and a large branch came down on it's roof, and to make matters worst it was big enough to break up and put a dent the hood of my truck again. I pay a tree trimmer $2000 to keep these 90 foot pin oaks trimmed, that don't work, I just might have to cut them down. The better-half says I have to take the 50 Plymouth out of the garage and park it in the driveway and let it get some wind personalty also. Quote
