Hi all, had the 47 out for a ride along Breezy Point Rd. today, along the Red River, this area was flooded recently, and is still under watch.

Many pelicans were on the water, huddling in the cool water, and staying warm.

I also saw some flying overhead.

Here are a few pics of my quick ride this morning...

They were Pelicans, infact we have many White Pelicans usually from the Gulf Coast region, migrate here every summer, seen a few floating dead last summer after some severe thunderstorms....

never questioned the fact they were not pelicans..just it is not common to see them flying that high in the south and coastal regions where I am used to see the brown pelican..skimming just above the water and dunes along the beach...I do like watching these guy..they look clumsy but are far from that..

Like the Pelicans down your way Tim, these Guys are always near the water, except this time of year, some hang around nearby, others go to the Netley delta areas.

I believe these are White American Pelicans...
