Alshere59 Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 Anyone know if a 15 x 6 rim with a rear Spacing of 3-5/8 inch will work on a 50 Plymouth? Tires are 215/70's R15 I would think so but I don't want to hit steering or anything else. I have disc brakes on the front and that looks like it will clear. Buying new rims and just want to make sure. Quote
greg g Posted April 5, 2011 Report Posted April 5, 2011 I think you are ok to about 4 inches of back space. The wheels I run are 3 1/2 and clearence is not an issue with 205 75's. I run the same wheel onthe rear with 225 75's My rims are 5" wide, not 6 so that might make a difference. I do get a bit of outer fender rub on hard turns with the trunk loaded, but I put that down to sloppy spring shackle bushings that allow the axle to shift more that it should i turns. Quote
Alshere59 Posted April 5, 2011 Author Report Posted April 5, 2011 Thank you for the information. Will post my experience just so the info is out there. Looks like I will be buying some rims tomorrow. Al Quote
martybose Posted April 6, 2011 Report Posted April 6, 2011 I am running Wheel Vintique 15x6 front wheels with an ECI front disk brake kit, which moves the rim mount out about 3/4". I special ordered the rims with the maximum backspacing that WV could make, which if memory serves was 4". With dropped spindles I have good tire clearance. Marty Quote
