I'm not finding this by searching - maybe one of you can help. I am in need of the "fuzzy" lining for the division bar channel - the part that holds the division bar when the window is rolled down into the door. All I have found so far is too shallow. The channel is 1 1/8" deep x 7/8" wide x 15 3/8" long. Takes 2. Any ideas?

just one addition to that old thread. If you are talking about the part that is inside the door, then what I ended up doing is sending it to Restoration Specialties to have them reline it. After order some products that did not fit I called them and they said the easiest way to do it is to have them reline it. I haven't gotten it back yet, but it was sent the end of last week. It was only around $20 plus the shipping which was quite a bit more.

Good job Dollydodge. I'm looking forward to seeing some photos when you get it all back together. I will be 'doing battle' with my vent windows again soon.

I got the relined division bar back from RS. They did an awesome job. See the pictures. I slid the widow in the relined division bar and it is smooth as silk. I my memory the window always rattled and banged around in the track. I can't wait to install it. There are some pictures of the relined piece by itself, next to the piece which holds it (two rivets) and then the two mounted together. I am really pleased with the work they did. Just like new again.

Now that they know what's needed, they should be able to provide the right stuff for everyone else, correct their parts and online catalogs.

Can you post the address and contact information for Restoration Specialties. Thanks

I got the my driver window installed, and it is a bit of a tight fit. I have adjusted (at least I think I have) the opening as wide as it can be, but the window rolls up and down with quite a bit of effort, or at least more than I think it should require.. It looks to me like the fuzzy material on the relined Division Bar on the inside of the door makes it too tight. My division bar didn't have the fuzzy part on the back only on the sides. But when it was relined they put fuzzy material on the sides and back. I think when I have RS do the passenger door I will have them leave the fuzzy stuff off the back side and see if the window fits better. All that said, the new window with new channel, sweep, division bar filler, and division bar liner is really cool and a huge upgrade for my Dolly Dodge.

I forgot to include pictures. So here they are. The one shot shows the new versus old window channel clips. The mounting clip is on the new is 90 degrees offset. I was able to mount mine, but others have not been successful. I question my self a bit about puttin all this new rubber etc, on my unpainted old truck. But it will keep the interior dry, and help keep out dust, until I can paint the old girl. As it is I am tickled pink to have the upgrades I have been able to do.

Also, this is my third post on this topic this morning. Jim want the RS contact info and it is down about 3 posts..

Congratulations on a good job on the vent and door window dollydodge. I am hoping to get on to mine as soon as my 'fuzzy' bits arrive. At least I have some of your progressive photos to go by now.

Thanks

After the initial reply to this post I ordered the channel from Roberts and of course, it was on back order so the parts just arrived today. Once again they are too shallow.

DollyDodge - when you sent yours in to be relined, did you send the metal channel that bolts to the door or was there a liner that they restored? I don't have the liners if that's the case. I'll have to call them and see if they can help.

Thanks for the additional info - I'm gonna have to check back here more often.

Ryan, I was fortunate to have my 'L' shaped fuzzy bits sent over from the States by Richards47deluxe (thanks again Richard). As far as I found, you can't buy the material here in Oz. Richard ordered it for me from Andy B - Bernbaum part # is: A-381 Vent division bar ‘L’ shaped fuzzy $15 per pair. The only catch is that you need to send them a $50 minimum order before they'll ship it to you in Oz. I don't suppose that I'll be needing my spare set that Richard sent me for a while. Send me an email and I'll sort something out for you.

I've attached a couple of photos of one of my windows and channels to date, which I'd be interested your thoughts on Dollydodge and Sams50b2d. I've had a look at the numerous doors that I have in the paddock and it would appear that the division bars in my doors do not have the fuzzy material on the back inside edge. I have made my division bars up with the fuzzy stuff on the sides only. Would the lack of fuzzy bit at the back of the division bar allow for the window to move more freely? I don't believe that the outer edge of the slide bar should make contact with the back of the division bar while it slides up and down. I hope that all makes sense!

I found that the felt material (dust cover strip?) attached to the inside of the door sills was held on by 3 small clips per piece. I'm not sure that our trucks were put together the same on this side of the world though.

I spoke with Hank recently and he mentioned the "small oblong rubber parts that go into the sill". Are these the parts marked 23-08-40 on the diagram from the manual? I'm not sure of the purpose of these 'bumper's' or even if they are required. I haven't located them in any of the doors that I have here.

I'd appreciate some feedback from anybody who is in the know as I believe that I am almost ready to install the door windows now.

I sent in the liners that go in the channel that bolts to the door. The liners are held in place with 2 spit rivets. I completed my passenger door as well and it looks great.
