Young Ed Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I'm taking over publishing a small phone # and address directory for our region of the plymouth club. So far searching the net I found some word templates that were kinda close but not really what we need and then some software that may or may not do it. The one program sounds good its a church directory creator but its $75 after the free trial expires. So thought I'd come here and see if anyone else has done this task before I venture out with something. Quote
greg g Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Just use a standard spread sheet and enlarge the cells as needed. thenyou can PDF it if needed. Then you can sort by name, address, zip code phone number etc. Quote
WatchingWolf Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I second Greg's opinion. Excel is too easy to skip over. Quote
Young Ed Posted January 31, 2011 Author Report Posted January 31, 2011 Greg that works for record keeping but not for publishing. Trying to make a somewhat professional looking booklet. Quote
greg g Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 You can usually merge files from the spread sheet to a destop publishing format without to much trouble. Use the spread sheet for the data base, then transfer the list to a publisher. Also see if there might be some shareware for a mailing list or mailing lable deal. http://www.allgraphicdesign.com/imagelayout.html Quote
