JIPJOBXX Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 Fine morning to get together with a bunch of other car nuts! My car started right up but first a little shot of gas in the carburetor. I do this every time when I have not started up the car in a month or so. I also came up with an idea and I will pass it along to you guys for heating up the engine. While checking out the water in the radiator I just thought why not put something in front of the radiator? So I turned around and low and behold there was a piece of insulation (Hard foam type) about 1/2 wide and picked it up and it fit perfectly in front of the radiator with a about a 1/4 of the radiator open for air travel. Cool and it works great! Light and just sits in front of the radiator and with the engine on it just sticks to the front of the radiator like it was made for such a purpose. Jon PS. And after years of diking around with my old car it starts up right away and I thank god for giving me all the patients to do this. I'm so satisfied with my old Dodge!!!! Will post some pictures latter today of this cold weather get together of car nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
49 Dodge Dude Posted January 1, 2011 Report Posted January 1, 2011 We went from a high of almost 60 degrees here in Illinois yesterday to a current temp of 19! On the plus side, though, we got rid of almost 10" of snow. It sure is nice to see grass! Quote
Greenbomb Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 14 degrees at our place this morning. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 It's around 22 degrees F here in southwest MO at 8:54 pm Sat. Got up to around 34 or 35 this afternoon. No snow so far. A couple nights ago they had tornadoes at Fort Leonard Wood and near St. Louis that did damage. There was a watch here, but nothing occurred. We've been fortunate so far.... Quote

old stovebolt Posted January 2, 2011 Report Posted January 2, 2011 Just returned from WA and its 26 degree weather, coupled with 65mph winds. It was a might cold.... Quote
55 Fargo Posted January 3, 2011 Report Posted January 3, 2011 That ain't cold, for 2 days and nights about 48 hours we had temps of around -5 to -10, with 30 to 45 mph winds, with a windchill value of -25. Today it was sunny no wind and about 2 f, and it felt great, if dressed well, this was balmy compared to windy frigid temps. I actually welded up a cracked frame on the Kids Quad today, did not even heat up the shop, just cleaned up the metal and mig welded here up, worked well. The little 110 CC Quad fired right up, and she has electric start, my Son bombed around on it for a while.....Fred Quote
