Gradually over a period of time and recommended lubrication didn't always happen. Repairing and restoring gives us a glimpse back in time of how they were when new. Bringing history back to life. TodFitch Posted December 30, 2010 Report Posted December 30, 2010 I'd be a bit hesitant to use a cast spring shackle. Too brittle a material for that application. Forged would be best but I guess a high quality welded fabrication with appropriate heat treating to anneal it could be safe. Quote
